The Queen of Speed

SALT FLATS PHOTO'S
GUMBALL 3000 PHOTO'S

FIRSTLY SOME GREAT NEWS!
'An Stradag' the 'Electric Speed Record Team', have asked me to sit in the seat where the 'Countess of Arran' once sat in 1989 when she took this record. We will be attempting and i'm sure breaking her speed record sometime early 2008 Watch this space! Guinness Book of Records is our aim! It's an honour to sit where she once sat, in the same boat at Coniston Water

THE GUMBALL RALLY

165 Performance cars, 3000 miles, 6 days, many countries, sleep deprivation & a distinct lack of food and sleep!

Laugh? Continuously for the duration….here are some shots…..& I didn’t personally go above 155mph. That was my cut off limit deciding that any faster then I would absolutely not be in control of the £110k beast I was driving! And it was a touch foggy so visibility was touch & go!

THE BONNEVILLE SALT FLATS

The most famous place in the world for setting Land Speed Records. A night in Vegas then a nice long drive through the desert all the way to UTAH in the burning hot sunshine…..

The Salt Flats were the most amazing sight I had ever seen. It was like winter, only 130 degrees hotter…..and the salts reflected the sun so much that sunscreen had to be used in places you had never even thought of!

Licenses for speed records are done in steps. You can’t just get your 200mph license by stamping on the accelerator. You need to work your way up. It’s a whole new ball game on the flats…….it was also my birthday. What else could a girl be given better than that?

Even Andy Green was about…the man who broke the sound barrier at over 763mph in THRUST SSC designed by Glenn...and it was Glenn whom I had the company of for several days as he was working on his next project….the world speed record for a steam car with Charles Burnett III…..,

Have a peak at the pix!
